EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontiers PlayStation 2

EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontiers expands the persistent world of Norrath with more territory to explore, stronger monsters to slay, a new playable race, and hundreds of additional items and spells to earn while adventuring. An in-game tutorial has been included to help new players get accustomed to the controls and interface, and an in-game link to customer service is designed to minimize the frustrations that can occur while experiencing an online universe for the first time. Frontiers lives up to its name by offering intrepid explorers over 162 square miles of new lands to discover, from the red rocks of Odus to the bubbling magma found in Lavastorm’s deadly streams.
The player models and armor have received a number of visual enhancements, so players can customize their character’s appearance and see the fruits of their labor directly onscreen. The new playable race, the ogre, possesses a deadly combination of brute force and powerful magic capabilities, and characters of all races will be able to enjoy “expanded content” once they reach certain high levels. Since EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontiers is an online-only game, allowing thousands of players to participate simultaneously, requirements include owning the PS2 Network Adaptor as well paying a monthly fee of nine dollars and 99 cents for unlimited adventuring and game updates. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots PlayStation 3

Solid Snake returns as an older, battlehardened veteran in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Series creator Hideo Kojima reprises his role as director as he brings the critically acclaimed stealthaction series to PlayStation 3 with a number of new elements. The futuristic setting now features expansive, wartorn environments with rival nations vying for control over both territory and technology. Sporting grizzled hair, wrinkles, and a moustache, the weary Snake also has an eye patch that pays homage to his character’s inspiration, Escape from New York’s antihero Snake Plissken.
Christened “Solid Eye” by Kojima, the eye patch serves as a multifunctional display that allows Snake to view infrared signals, radar, and more. As Snake sneaks through bombed out areas, interior locales, and other detailed environments, players will be able to shape the cinematic story line through their ingame actions. Missions can be accomplished in multiple ways, and Snake’s decisions during the course of play will influence how characters react to him. As in previous games, players can attack enemies in close quarters combat, wear disguises, perform acrobatic moves, use a variety of inventive gadgets, and call on familiar characters for assistance and information. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
Gravity Games Bike: Street. Vert. Dirt. PlayStation 2
